Government raises sugar price, notification issued |
ISLAMABAD: The government has fixed the retail price of sugar at Rs 88.24 paise and the Ministry of Industries and Production has also issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Industry and Production, from December 2020 to May 2021, 24.74 million tons of sugar was sold, the ex-mill rate of sugar was Rs 70.42 per kg while the retail price was Rs 88.24 per kg. Will be. The new prices will take effect immediately.
It may be recalled that the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) of the Federal Cabinet, headed by Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, met yesterday in which the prices of flour, ghee and sugar were raised by 53 per cent through the Utility Stores Corporation (USC). It was decided to increase. After which the price of ghee per kg increased from Rs 170 to Rs 260 per kg. In addition, the price of flour has gone up from Rs 800 to Rs 950 per 20 kg sack. Similarly, the current price of sugar has been increased from Rs 68 to Rs 85.
