ISLAMABAD: The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has decided to raid the offices of forcibly registered jewelers, real estate agents and property dealers and chartered accountants.

The FBR has decided to raid the offices of jewelers, real estate agents and property dealers and chartered accountants who have been forcibly registered to enforce the FATF conditions under anti-money laundering laws. NFBPs have formed special inspection teams consisting of Deputy Directors and Inspectors.

 

The Directorate General of DNFBPs has issued notices to more than 57,000 jewelers, real estate agents and property dealers and chartered accountants for compliance inspections on the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

 

According to a copy of the notice available to The Express, the teams will inspect the offices of jewelers, real estate agents and property dealers and chartered accountants. Data filers required to implement anti-money laundering clauses 7 (1), 7 (3), 7 (4), 7 (5), 7 (6) and the rules and regulations introduced under them and Provide client details to the inspection team.
