The Corona epidemic is also affecting the mental health of citizens.

According to the details, the research of Sindh Mental Health Authority has proved that 42% of the people were suffering from depression due to Corona epidemic.

 

According to the report, 25 per cent of the 42 per cent were prone to suicide, the study found that 62 per cent were unemployed, 81 per cent of the rural population and 43 per cent of the urban population were affected. One percent borrowed money from other people, 21 percent were forced to sell their property, goods and livestock.

 

According to the Sindh Mental Health Authority, 48% of men and 52% of women participated in the research. A total of 1494 people from the province participated in the research. The survey was conducted in 12 districts between May and June 2021. Districts selected.

 

In addition, the survey was conducted under the auspices of Sindh Mental Health Authority with the support of various NGOs and institutions. Dow University of Health Sciences, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences and Karachi University participated in the research, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law College and The Edhi Foundation also assisted in the research.
